Job Description

As a Security Manager – Global Security – Associate in our Global Security team you will be responsible for the 24/7 security management of the JP Morgan Chase building in Berlin, Germany. This includes the day-to-day management of the buildings and contract guarding teams, strategic planning, direction, coordination and implementation of security procedures, incident handling, threat management, crisis management, technical systems and personnel policies.


Job responsibilities:

  • Analyse security needs, planning and direct implementation of security measures, such as security or safety systems, and estimate costs of operation balanced against calculated risk. Develop and establish security procedures for protection of individuals, groups, or JP Morgan property.
  • Assist and support on all security related matters in other JPMC locations in EMEA as and when required.
  • Maintain and contribute to health & safety, fire & life safety procedures. Support senior management by identifying risks and ensuring the smooth continuance of business functions during a disaster or other crisis.
  • Manage the day-to-day responsibility of JP Morgan contract guard force, including training, staffing levels & testing. Maintain a close daily relationship with the guard force vendor.
  • Facilitate the safe evacuation of staff from JP Morgan premises in the event of an emergency. Ensure the security of premises after evacuation and liaison with resiliency personnel, in order to assist in the continuity of business.
  • Confer with management to determine the need for training programs and to formulate and coordinate these. Train staff and colleagues in incident management, building evacuation, personal & office safety, mail room safety, bomb awareness or as requested by JP Morgan management.
  • Prepare reports as needed and directed by EMEA Global Security Senior Managers as well assist in the maintenance of the GS SharePoint site with strong controls, governance and oversight.
  • Work closely with Real Estate, Global Technology Infrastructure, Global Business Resiliency, LOB Business Resiliency and Regional Security Managers to ensure effective coordination of all disaster/crisis management policies.
  • Support with securing events and executive visits in the EMEA region.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Management of guarding contracts.
  • High motivation to introduce Global Security´s processes and procedures in a new work environment and to build up and maintain relationships with changing stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of staff safety, and security operations, rules & regulations, precautions, prevention, and the protection of people, data and property, Knowledge of local health & safety and fire life safety rules and regulations.
  • Experience of threat management and workplace violence procedures.
  • Knowledge of physical and technical security systems including access control and CCTV. Ability to carry out site risk assessments and security evaluations.
  • Experience in emergency response/operations or crisis management as well as well as first level incident management and escalation.
  • Fluency in German and English
  • Excellent PC skills, MS Office

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • 2 years’ experience working in a corporate security or similar environment.
  • Ability to build professional networks with law enforcement and peers.
  • Experience in how to perform threat assessments (e.g. physical assets, event security etc)
  • An understanding of best industry practice across all aspects of protective security and raising awareness across the Lines of Business.
