The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Process Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Taking ownership of multiple lines supporting the assets in the Vacuum Web Processing area within the Microreplication Operations Value Stream
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to scale up and qualify products
  • Initiating and leading projects that result in continuous improvement of Product and Process Understanding (PPU), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and machine Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Leading Continuous Improvement projects and Kaizens in a Lean Manufacturing environment.
  • Developing standard operating procedures for production operations
  • Providing daily support and on-call support for production operations

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Science or Engineering (completed and verified prior to start) from accredited institution.
  • Five (5) years of manufacturing experience within a production plant setting in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Experience with web handling equipment, plasma processing, coating processes.
  • Good statistical background with knowledge of Lean/Six-Sigma methodologies
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Experience servicing customer needs.
  • Demonstrated results driving projects/initiatives related to product quality improvement, unit cost modeling, and cost reduction projects
  • Demonstrated results leading product improvement projects
  • Experience leading or participating on cross functional teams, especially across multiple sites or divisions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong communication skills both verbal and written, analytical and organizational skills to manage different priorities
  • Experience generating and supporting capital improvement projects from idea to implementation
