This Technical Expert role within the Durability and Roads Loads department is an individual contributor leadership role responsible for developing road loads methodology to robustly deliver the Durability attribute. The main purpose of this role is to develop methods and tools for robust Fully Analytical roads loads for virtual development and sign-off of overall vehicle Durability in support of road to lab to math vision. In this role, you will mentor/teach and communicate across the organization to foster technical competence and interface with other experts across other areas to leverage existing resources.What you'll do...

Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
10+ years of experience in road loads engineering
7+ years of experience with analytical road loads engineering
3+ years of experience with physical road loads engineering

Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering, electric-drive vehicle engineering or related field.
15+ years of experience in road loads
10+ years of experience with analytical road loads engineering
5+ years of experience with physical road loads engineering
Experience in CAE and Road loads
Strong understanding of multibody dynamics and Finite Element Analysis with application to road load and durability development
Experience correlating CAE to physical testing
Expert knowledge in utilizing 8D, 3x5 why and other tools to facilitate clear and concise communication of complex technical issues.
Patents / Invention, Defensive Disclosures / Trade Secrets and/or Technical Publications
Understanding of CAE correlation to physical testing
Knowledge of the history of road loads issues with respect to Durability AIMS
Knowledge of Tire modeling methodologies (F-Tire, ARLMBD) and ARLMBD Theory
Knowledge of statistical validation tools – usage of Weibull analysis
Knowledge of , LMS, CAN, neoVI, Sampling and Filtering theories
Knowledge of CORL, CATIA, Hypermesh, ABAQUS, LS DYNA, NASTRAN, TeamCenter, MATLAB, nCode,
Deep knowledge of rigid body transformations and principal component analysis and their application to component loads and MAST testing.
Deep knowledge of the following: ADAMS, ADAMS CAR, ADAMS Chassis, GSS/GEDL, Flexible Component modeling and incorporation in ADAMS simulations
Demonstrated capability and willingness to teach/coach/mentor and document technical knowledge.
Demonstrated high level of communication skills and teamwork.
Recognized as a “go-to” person in functional area of expertise.
Ability to lead a team in the delivery of technical objectives.
Self-starter: ability to work effectively with little oversight
