To thrive in this role, you will bring hands-on product/technology leadership and production experience from a VFX or Animation studio, an understanding of studio production infrastructure, and a familiarity with essential third-party tools, open-source projects, and industry standards.

What You Will Do
  • Attract, manage, and develop a strong team of PMs, guiding them to set and achieve ambitious goals. Actively coach, mentor, and grow the team, ensuring a collaborative, supportive, and high-performing environment. Foster a culture of inclusion, innovation, and continuous improvement within the product team.

  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with key technology and production stakeholders across Netflix Product and Technology, Netflix Studio, Scanline VFX, Eyeline Studios, Netflix Animation Studio, and Netflix Series Animation.

  • Establish a shared vision with cross-functional and studio stakeholders and drive alignment on infrastructure and technology initiatives that have high leverage across our VFX and Animation studios.

  • Lead and oversee the team in defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with studio goals and joint objectives. Actively prioritize efforts across your portfolio to maximize impact for Netflix.

  • Partner with peer Product teams to ensure cohesion of hybrid infrastructure with platforms and foundational systems like Identity & Access Management and Edge systems.

  • Develop regional infrastructure strategies that provide our VFX and Animation production teams with access to optimized resources tailored to meet the demands of cutting-edge VFX and Animation workflows and tools.

  • Balance short and long term perspectives, while relentlessly focusing on the best outcomes for the shows produced within Netflix’s VFX and Animation studios.

  • Communicate project timelines, updates, and roadmaps and maintain accountability on deliverables. Simplify efforts to ensure the broader organization understands our product strategy and roadmap, fostering transparency. Proactively seek diverse viewpoints to keep our focus on the most critical, strategic work.

  • Collaborate with Studio operational teams to roll out products and drive adoption.

What You Bring
  • Proven Leadership: 7+ years of product management experience and/or senior technology leadership experience (in VFX or Animation studios preferred) including managing people. You have a demonstrated ability to develop and inspire teams to achieve ambitious outcomes and a strong track record of providing mentorship and leadership to foster team development and success

  • Strategic Thinking & Communication: You’re a strategic thinker and exceptional communicator who excels in both written and verbal forms. You can clearly convey concepts and lead thoughtful discussions on strategic developments, decision-making, and progress. You can effectively communicate and translate between studio and technology partners and can manage a portfolio of bigger and smaller bets while balancing short-term goals and long-term vision

  • Growth Mindset & High Attention to Detail: You bring a growth mindset and a high attention to detail, understanding how product capabilities and investments connect to broader team and company goals

  • Technical Prowess: You bring a healthy blend of technical knowledge with a production-focused mindset and empathy for creative users. You have a deep understanding of the market, industry trends, and competitive landscape. You have exposure to and familiarity with industry-common creative tools (e.g. Houdini, Nuke), interchange formats (e.g. USD, OTIO), and production tracking toolsets (e.g. Flow Production Tracking, ftrack) or can build this up rapidly. Familiarity with applying ML/AI techniques in Computer Graphics workflows is a strong plus

  • You have the ability to dive into the unknown and create clarity amid ambiguity. You are flexible amid an ever-changing and growing environment

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $520,000-$975,000.
