Essential Responsibilities:

  • Drives product strategy with cross-functional stakeholders consistent with the shared vision for the product or enabling platform.
  • Plans and implements the architectural roadmap that balances innovative design and technical implementation, while balancing regulatory requirements, time-to-market, meeting customer needs and product profitability.
  • Assesses the customer experience and customer needs in product requirements and decision making.
  • Sets up data gathering mechanisms relative to the metrics that inform the success of products including usability studies, research and market analysis.
  • Leads workstreams to include analytics, customer discovery, market research and competitive analysis to drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Oversees product profitability measures, including budget.
  • Plans operational mechanisms that drive execution and accountability including Product Reviews, Operating Reviews, and Business Reviews. Interfaces with product and technology leadership as needed.
  • Partners with content strategists, data scientists, product designers and user experience researchers.
  • Maximizes efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the standard.

Expected Qualifications:

  • 8+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Key Responsibilities

Product Management

  • Own external data platforms as products, ensuring clear value articulation, internal adoption, performance tracking, and lifecycle management.
  • Lead roadmap development for two platforms, working with end users, product and engineering partners, external vendors, and strategy and other partners.
  • Drive acceleration of time to value for external data, enabling rapid evolution of risk policies and rapid development and retraining of ML/AI models.
  • Expand use cases leveraging external data platforms, including across domains, global markets, and innovative new businesses.
  • Ensure access, consumption, and management of external data assets are optimized by working backwards from the customer.
  • Drive innovation in how external data is consumed, including leveraging new AI tools and techniques.
  • Develop, enhance, and expand existing platform which combines internal and external data sources.
  • Lead development of a new platform to support rapid evaluation of new data sources.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Build, lead, and develop a small high-performing team.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, Credit Risk, Fraud Risk, Data Strategy, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Legal, and Compliance teams.
  • Manage partnerships with external vendors to support external data platforms.

Skills required

  • Experience managing data as a product, including product ownership of data platforms and data products, with a strong grasp of product lifecycle, internal customer needs, go-to-market strategies, and measurement metrics. Ability to assess quality and optimize performance.
  • Experience leveraging credit bureau and alternative data sources to drive business impact in lending or credit risk functions (experience in fraud risk a strong bonus).
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed environment and successfully collaborating with multiple partner teams to deliver meaningful impact.
  • Familiarity with technical considerations of data platforms, including data architecture, pipelines, and governance frameworks.
  • Track record of building and managing a high-performing team and fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and focus on the customer.
  • Understanding of relevant regulatory environments (e.g., FCRA, ECOA, GLBA, GDPR), especially as they apply to data sourcing and usage.
  • Trusted relationship builder with external data providers and internal stakeholders.

The US national annual pay range for this role is $169,500 to $291,500
