Citi is looking to hire a trader to oversee a UK Inflation trading book in London, making market and providing liquidity to our global client base in the Inflation sector.

You will work in conjunction with the global trading team to deliver on revenue and franchise goals, and with key stakeholders to grow and develop the Rates franchise.

You will deploy best practice on pricing and risk management in a fashion that positively influences other traders on the desk and to contribute to a positive culture on the desk and with the sales partners.

What you will do will be varied day to day, but the key drivers for the role are:

  • Responsibly oversee a trading book as a proficient UK Inflation trader.
  • Generate revenues to achieve targets whilst considering market and franchise conditions.
  • Build and maintain a franchise and connect with key clients in a fashion that fits with desk’s strategy and target clients.
  • Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance.
  • Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethics.
  • Demonstrate proper consideration for the firm’s reputation.
  • Be familiar with and adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services.
  • Obtain and maintain all registrations/licenses which are required for your role, within the appropriate timeframe.

What we will need from you:

  • This is not an entry level role, so the successful candidate will need to be already managing risk and have in depth knowledge of respective products and clients.
  • Will need to have trading experience in UK Inflation and with a relevant revenue generating track record.
  • Experience of working closely with Sales, Research, and other organizations across Markets to provide market liquidity and help build the Citi franchise through the monetisation of client flows.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication and effective interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A strong understanding of Bloomberg, booking systems, trading protocol, closing technicalities.
  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
