- Recruit, onboard, and retain top talent.
- Oversee the design and implementation of scalable data pipelines.- Align data solutions with Kuiper's architecture goals (cost, security, scalability).
- Manage multiple data engineering projects across Kuiper Org.
- Define project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Drive prioritization and trade-off decisions.
- Communicate project progress and risks to leadership.- Evaluate new technologies and tools for data infrastructure.
- Lead design and code reviews to maintain high quality standards.
- Monitor and optimize data infrastructure and pipelines for performance and reliability.- Influence decision-making through data-driven insights.
- Communicate effectively with senior leadership on strategy, progress, and challenges.
- Monitor and optimize the cost of data infrastructure and services.
A day in the life
In this role you’ll interface with cross-functional teams including operators, information security, third-party vendors, and multiple IT infrastructure teams. You’ll join a diverse team of systems engineers, software developers, network engineers, and warehouse management systems experts.Note : This position requires onsite work in Bellevue, Redmond, and Everett WA. This is not a remote position.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of data engineering experience
- 2+ years of processing data with a massively parallel technology (such as Redshift, Teradata, Netezza, Spark or Hadoop based big data solution) experience
- 2+ years of relational database technology (such as Redshift, Oracle, MySQL or MS SQL) experience
- 2+ years of developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics (using ETL/ELT processes) experience
- Experience managing a data or BI team
- Experience communicating to senior management and customers verbally and in writing
- Experience leading and influencing the data or BI strategy of your team or organization
- Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
- Strong proficiency in data engineering tools and technologies (e.g., SQL, ETL, data warehousing, distributed systems).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) for building scalable data solutions.
- Solid understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and designing large-scale data pipelines.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and deliver them on time.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
