Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation
    • OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) technical experience in network design, development, and automation
  • 2+ years of network operations or engineering experience in an online service, internet service provider or large enterprise environment
  • Experience with routing protocols such as: ISIS, OSPF, BGP, and MPLS technologies
  • 2+ years of professional software development experience in the networking domain, including C#, Python, Go, REST, YAML, and workflow systems

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

  • Experience improving and streamlining the engineering process, tools, methodologies to develop and operate services at hyper-scale

Responsibilities
  • Develops an understanding of network and code review processes by assisting in identifying risks and classes of bugs and becoming familiar with essential details related to network implementation and design qualification with guidance from other engineers.
  • Triages, troubleshoots, and repairs live site issues using troubleshooting guides and standard tooling with minimal disruption to customers; participates in on-call/Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) duties and root cause analysis processes.
  • Contributes to the development or modification of network automation tools with guidance from other engineers to make efficient use of infrastructure and resources by automating performance of various tasks related to network operations, testing, and incident management.
  • Works within a team of engineers to manage network deployments. Builds automation to support the rapid deployment of Network.
  • Identifies gaps in our operational and deployment strategies and solves problems with technical acumen and automated approach.
  • Contributes to the migration of critical customer services from old hardware platforms to next gen hardware.
