As a HW/Silicon Application Engineer in Silicon Validation team, you will play a pivotal role in driving RCA (Root Cause Analysis) activities for failures pointing to silicon, in development and production phases of products by collaborating with multi-functional teams. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining and supporting tests/framework to debug silicon/SOC issues and drive root cause failure analysis.Key job responsibilities- Develop & Drive qualification activities for peripheral parts like memories & storage based on customer (product team) requirements.
- Risk Management : Drive containment, risk assessment & mitigation activities related to silicon/hardware failures.
- Craft test strategies for new features, including specifications and validation plans as needed, across (but not limited to) Validation and ATE environments.
- Experience : 7+ years in Silicon/System validation and failure analysis.
- Educational Background : BS or MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related field/equivalent experience.
- System Level Expertise : Experience in system-level debugging, focusing on functional and structural test correlation.
- Technical Knowledge : Exposure to silicon manufacturing, and production testing of chips, boards, and systems.
- Additional Skills : Exposure to digital design, circuit analysis, statistical analysis, firmware, drivers, and diagnostic software applications.
- Soft Skills : Outstanding problem-solving, partnership, and interpersonal abilities. Excellent written and oral communication skills (peer and leadership-facing).
- Analytical Understanding : Basic knowledge of frequency, power, thermal constraints and failure analysis techniques.
- Deep hands-on technical expertise in automation, executing tests, test frameworks and tools.
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python or C.
- Exposure to ARM based SOC architecture and experience in testing of complex multimedia SOCs.
- Knowledge of DFT architecture, BIST, fault analysis, fault models, and fault detection methods.
- Experience in quality assurance for consumer electronics.
