Geographic Area Manager – Energy and Power
You will work closely with the Client Growth Manager(s) in the Middle East to efficiently grow our pipeline of work and magnify our ability to serve our clients and our communities.
You will be accountable for the financial performance of the capability area and central to ensuring we create lasting and sustainable value for our shareholders. You will deliver upon key commercial performance objectives and provide leadership in the areas such as integrated delivery with our GDCs to deliver on these outcomes. By motivating, inspiring and holding your team to account, you will ensure that considered investment decisions, responsible cost control, balanced risk management and disciplined solution delivery translates to the achievement of key commercial targets and broader business goals.
Key selection criteria and leadership competencies:
Experience:You should be qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in science or engineering and be registered or qualify for registration as a chartered / professional engineer at a major global institution. Candidates should have a minimum post-education experience should be 10 years but preferably 15 years. You should have experience of planning and engineering of transmission and distribution systems, familiarity with grid codes, network planning and connection processes, and high-level understanding of the contracting strategies for the elements of a network. Experience of HVDC systems would be an added advantage.
Market Knowledge:You should have in-depth knowledge of trends in flexible operation and planning of power systems and the integration of renewables and energy storage. You should have expert knowledge of either substations, control and protection, cables or overhead lines, and a thorough understanding of the other disciplines to support our clients in their overall approach to engineering, construction and operation of these assets.
