Job responsibilities

  • Participates in, design and develop scalable and resilient systems using Python to contribute to continual, iterative improvements for product teams
  • Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
  • Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
  • Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
  • Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
  • Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on Computer Engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronic Engineering, or Software Engineering.
  • Strong experience in developing enterprise software and proficiency in multiple technologies, preferably AWS, Hadoop, and Python
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
  • Proficiency with ETL
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications, big data platform, and technical processes within a data technology and management.
  • Creates Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions such as Terraform / Ansible
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
  • Strong experience in developing enterprise applications using Python.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Experience with container technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS EKS
  • Proficiency in setting up alerting and monitoring tools like Datadog, Grafana, Splunk, Dynatrace
  • Experience in CI/CD pipeline preferably Jenkins & Spinnaker and Version Control tools (BitBucket, GIT)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a public cloud environment
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills with clear communication.
  • Understanding the importance of great documentation with a passion for helping customers.
