Our Geographic Manager of Operations are responsible for (but not limited to):

· Manage all contract service O&M teams (projects) to provide clients with effective performance in compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory agency water quality and solids disposal permit requirements · Provide primary client relationship with client management and technical personnel and report regularly as to client confidence, satisfaction, and/or problems

· Provide support, mentoring, training, and leadership to assure the highest possible effort on the part of onsite managers and operators in the region

· Maintain established project cost levels to assure O&M profitability ratios

· Coordinate with marketing personnel to assure effective communication is maintained at all client levels and provide support in development of contract operations and other efforts

· Interface, where necessary, with union officials and supervise all performance reviews and grievance notifications

· Lead O&M personnel development and training program to assure a cadre of operations and onsite managers for additional sites and/or advancement within the organization

· Implements O&M training programs to develop all levels of associates at regional sites, recommend new training requirements, undertake to advance professional skills, mentor new project managers and those of the contract operating teams with a written plan

· Assure O&M management of the proper execution of job performance interviews and in the continuing communication of management policies to all personnel

· Develop all of the technical skills to function as an onsite manager and be prepared to perform these functions during project start up as well as during emergency situations

· Responsible for inclusion and diversity efforts in the region

· Organize and direct all onsite contract operations teams within the region

· Lead O&M Safety, Maintenance, Process Control, and Sustainability efforts in the region

· Assure personnel compliance with corporate reporting systems and customer reporting systems

· Participate in the selection, assignment, and orientation of all onsite supervisors and motivates extraordinary, self-starting effort by onsite supervisors

· Review monthly contract service reports for each installation, advising management as to project status, regulatory agency permit compliance, and technical/plant management attitudes

· Support regional personnel with the handling of local problems and in the development of client relations strategies to assure successful on-going business at each site

· Assure the implementation of all required training programs and performance reviews for new and existing projects

· Create interest and support in the development of cost/savings programs

· Reports on all competitive contract services sales efforts and advises marketing personnel of these efforts and prepares other reports and presentations as required

· Actively participate in regional and local professional groups, and reports on any technology or service advancements desired by local groups and/or O&M clients

· Develop budgets and assist in the preparation of operations strategies to achieve compliance with regulatory agency requirements and O&M corporate objectives

· Review all monthly project manager reports and utilize these materials to more effectively manage O&M client services and to assure O&M's compliance with all contract provisions and client understanding and satisfaction of services rendered

Here's what you'll need

· BA or BS degree; or 10 years in a leadership role in lieu of the degree

· Eight years of experience at a municipal water/wastewater treatment facility public works operation, or industrial treatment plant including experience in project management with responsibility for technical support and financial accountability or 8 years working in a related field

· Five years of experience at a supervisory level

· Ability to travel 50% of the time · Possess a valid driver’s license with no major infractions

· Proficiency with computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Ideally, You'll Also Have:

· Master’s degree in related field (i.e. Engineering, Financial, Business, etc.)

· Ten years of experience at a municipal water/wastewater treatment, public works operation, or industrial treatment plant including experience in project management with responsibility for technical support and financial accountability

· Experience in workforce management when governed by a CBA negotiated through a local union

· An engineering background is preferred but not required.

· Knowledge of methods to reduce operating costs of a treatment plant through efficiency in energy consumption, chemical addition, staffing strategies and solids disposal

· Ability to make presentations and write proposals

· Excellent oral and written communications, self-motivation, team-oriented work practices, and strong data analysis & technical problem solving skills

· Advanced interpersonal skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively and maintain credibility across all levels of the organization

· Water and Wastewater operational certifications strongly desired

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

The work area can involve a working environment indoors, as well as, outdoors which could cause exposure to outdoor elements; proper environmental attire will be required. Some areas can have loud noise, active machinery, highpressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights and depths, fumes, air borne particles, noxious gases, pathogens and various chemicals. Safety is of the utmost importance. The use of appropriate safety equipment will be mandatory in these areas to prevent hazardous contact. Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, twist and bend at the waist, turn, kneel, squat, raise arms above shoulder height, grasp, reach, perform repetitive hand movements and fine coordination when preparing reports and using a computer keyboard, have vision sufficient to read computer screens, printed documents and operate office equipment, have hearing in the normal range with or without correction. In an 8-hour time period must be able to transport self across the facility, ascend and descend stair steps, lift objects up to 50 pounds from floor level to waist height, wear and use appropriate safety equipment.
