Assist bankers by reviewing/negotiating transaction documents, including confidentiality agreements, engagement letters, underwriting agreements and opinions;
Engage, instruct and supervise external counsels;
Sssist in structuring and executing corporate and capital markets transactions;
Help in developing internal guidelines, policies, procedures and standardized documentation;
Identify and advise on regulatory developments, new products or trends in the market; and
Interact with different internal functions and develop a relationship with internal stakeholders as a trusted partner, providing practical legal advice.
Required Skills:
Qualified lawyer under the laws of Japan and/or the laws of a common law jurisdiction.
A minimum of three years post qualifications experience with a leading Japanese or international law firm or financial services company working on international corporate and/or capital markets transactions.
A desire to learn and interest in contributing from start to finish on helping clients on headline transactions.
Fluent in Japanese (native level required in speaking, reading and writing) and English; based in Tokyo.
