Your way to:
Set the vision and strategy for your team in partnership with Design and Product leaders.
Build, grow, andretainan excellent engineering team to innovate, invent, and deploy best-in-class software. Develop and grow this talent through effective mentoring and coaching.
Assure the availability, scalability, and performance of the software your team delivers aligns with its purpose and business context.
Provide technical leadership: articulate high-level technical strategy, encourage technical discussions, apply good principles for software development, andfacilitatecode reviews to drive the shipping of quality code into production and other development efforts.
Your day to day:
Act as a coach and manager for a team of 6-10 engineers, helping them succeed and grow in their roles.
Actively collaborate with other engineeringmanagersin buildinga strong engineering culture.
Take responsibility for delivery, quality, architecture, compliance, and the business success of your teams’ products.
Define goals, OKRs, KPIs, SLAs and drive continuous improvements in velocity, quality, and issue management.
Participate inestablishingand improving a strong engineering culture, including hiring, performance assessments, career development, inclusion & diversity, and technical and operational excellence.
What do you need to bring:
Proven experience as a team engineering manager
Hands-on experience as a software developer, ideally in Java or JavaScript, with experience across multiple layers of the application stack
Willingness to step in hands-on if necessary
Advanced knowledge in software architecture from at least one of: mobile app development, web applications and/or Node or Java backends
Experience in software lifecycle including release planning, time estimates, release processes, software testing, incident- and issue management,monitoring& alerting and related.
Experiencein Agiledevelopment (and agile frameworks like Scrum andKanban) and commonly used tools likeJiraand GitHub.
Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders across multiple functions.
Demonstrated self-motivation and self-direction connected with a passion for excellence in product and people.
Experience from fintech or retail sectors is a strong plus.
