*Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed within normal commuting distance from the Red Hat, Inc. office in Boston, MA.

What You Will Do:

  • Communicate with end users in Jira or Slack to ensure user needs are met while keeping software performance and maintainable.

  • Participate in team design sessions to discuss approaches to solving technical problems and lead the design discussion, including by researching the problem and possible solutions.

  • Work with OpenShift Quality Engineering to ensure that features and bugs are performing as required and write documentation for the open-source community.

  • Deploy code to production for Red Hat OpenShift Dedicated and responsible for monitoring the production systems and responding to alerts and questions.

  • Consult with external stakeholders in the open-source community over Github or Slack.

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related role.

  • Must have two (2) years of experience with object-oriented programming languages;

  • Must have two (2) years of experience with troubleshooting issues in distributed systems;

  • Must have two (2) years of experience with distributed application architectures and REST;

  • Must have two (2) years of experience with cloud computing and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS);

  • Must have two (2) years of experience with test-driven development and unit testing frameworks and methodologies;

  • Must have two (2) years of experience with working with customers and end users to resolve issues, define requirements, and deliver fixes and enhancements;

  • Must have two (2) years of experience with scripting languages;

  • Must have one (1) year of experience with API design.

The salary range for this position is $104,080.00 - $166,320.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.
