What You’ll Do
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to define product requirements and develop implementations
  • Participate in prototype builds, component fabrication, testing and validation efforts
  • Provide hands-on support and perform data analysis
  • Develop designs in CAD for both detailed parts and assemblies
  • Perform tolerance analysis, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and other simulations and analyses before releasing designs for production
  • Create 2D drawings appropriate for production and inspection methods
  • Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews with suppliers and support tooling bring up
  • Optimize components while considering performance, design, integration, size, mass, assembly and more
  • Modeling and design of mechanical components and assemblies including plastic, sheet metal, die cast etc.
  • Support development of engineering and reliability test plans, test data analysis, and troubleshooting of design issues
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Proficient in CAD, Catia experience preferred
  • Knowledge of design of plastic injection molded, sheet metal stamping and cast parts
  • Experience in drafting 2D drawings with GD&T
  • Experience in MATLAB, Python, or other modeling tools preferred
  • Proficiency in data visualization and statistical analysis
  • Ability to perform first-principles analysis to ensure a successful design (physics, stress-strain, thermal, tolerance, cost and mass optimization, etc.)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Basic understanding of electrical and thermal design fundamentals. Familiarity with PCBAs and electronics packaging
  • Experience taking designs from initial concept through to mass production
