What You’ll Do
  • Program and debug structure text and ladder logic code on multiple PLC controller platforms (Rockwell, Siemens, etc.) that is organized, structured, documented, maintainable and reusable and enforce application of Tesla controls standards and proper
  • Create robust programs and sequences to control complex, multi-station machinery to perform processes such as material pick and place, ultrasonic welding, punching, fastening, sanding, testing and material transport
  • Create intuitive operator touchscreen interfaces using FactoryTalk/WinCC/Ignition and Ignition SCADA utilization of Tesla industrial networking resources
  • Design and implement reliable safety systems for safeguarding equipment and robotic cells
  • Manage electrical cabinet builds, field wiring, pneumatic and fluid plumbing
  • Participate in equipment development and design reviews and carefully balance specifications, process requirements, layout complexity, cost, and lead-time limits
  • Enforce application of Tesla controls standards, manage suppliers during specification, design review, design approval
  • Manage suppliers during specification, design, buyoff and installation of automated manufacturing equipment
  • Support Equipment Sustaining teams with troubleshooting efforts, PLC/HMI code correction requests or easy troubleshooting tools on HMI or other user interfaces
  • analyze problems and error conditions, identify root causes, and implement viable long-term solutions
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of professional controls engineering experience associated with integration and PLC programming on Rockwell, Siemens platforms
  • Experience with MySQL databases and various coding languages (Java, Python, etc.)
  • HMI programming experience – Ignition/FactoryTalk and WinCC
  • Robotic programming skills desired (Fanuc, Yaskawa Motoman, Kuka)
  • Good understanding of electrical control components, Industrial communication networks and Electrical wiring standards and related safety regulations
  • Experience with Plastic injection molding and welding/assembly technology is desired
  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical to design diagrams and prints
  • Good Verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Work in night shift
