As a Test Automation Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Commercial Bank Technology, your role will involve working on the build out of the Aurora, a multi-year strategic investment leveraging Agile and fortress architecture principles. You will be working on creating the functional test automation suite which helps in finding bottle necks in the application
Job responsibilities
• Design and develop automation test scripts for validation of the application functionality
• Work on using the market best practices to create the tests
• Perform tests which help the team to improve the quality of the application
• Provide estimates for user stories utilizing planning poker.
• Participate in product backlog prioritization, story mapping, and story splitting activities.
• Prepare and participate in sprint review meetings showcasing completed product backlog items to the product owner.
• Proactively look to develop and implement best practices across the entire project team, practicing continuous process improvement.
• Collaborate face to face and virtually with the Product Owner, Operations and Technology partners around the world.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
• Experience in building and maintaining test automation frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of test automation frameworks specifically in Selenium and Cucumber
• Must have automation skills, deep understanding of web applications including HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript
• Working knowledge of Java and programming • Experience with open-source test automation tools.
• Experience in applying Business driven development techniques (jUnit, Fitnesse, Selenium, Cucumber or similar tools)
• Experience in Continuous Integration and Deployment practices and tools (Jenkins or equivalent, Maven, Git, developer efficiency tools).
• Experience working in Agile teams, ability to focus and grasp business concepts explained during PBRs and creating test strategy and test scenarios.
• Strong written and oral communication.
• Experience working on Unix.
• Passionate about testing strategy, problem solving, learning new skills, sharing expertise and knowledge.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
• Experience working in a financial services environment with good working knowledge of associated accounting principles
• Experience in application testing and monitoring frameworks – jMeter, AppDynamics, Geneos, Fitnesse, PhantomJS etc.
• Previous experience with wholesale loans business
