You’ll work with a knowledgeable and supportive team as you design these systems and assist in construction support and commissioning activities. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of any of the following: information display systems, security systems and components, public address systems, communication systems and networks, variable message signs, roadway lane use signs, traffic cameras, traffic data sensors, roadway weather information sensors, Operational Technology networks including Programmable Logic Controllers, servers/workstations, local/wide area networks.
Your Role:
• Work with Systems team and other disciplines on ITS, Security and Communications systems for public and private clients
• Provide design packages that include plans, specifications, and cost estimates
• Provide calculations to support designs
• Support the implementation of these systems by providing field inspections, reviewing submittals, and responding to requests for information
• Support the commissioning and testing of these systems
• Research technologies to provide solutions to clients
• Attend team and client meetings
• Attend client site visits throughout New England and nationally
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Civil engineering or related field from an accredited program, university, or college. A Master’s Degree is a plus.
• Substantial professional years of experience in the design and commissioning of intelligent transportation systems, security systems and/or communication networks
• Project Management a plus
• Working knowledge of intelligent transportation systems, security systems, and/or communication networks
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Capable of working in a team environment, including giving and receiving critical feedback
• Strong and effective verbal and written communications skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Self-motivated, responsible, and accountable
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and owners, and able to respond in a timely manner to their requests and needs.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to transport self to sites on short notice
• Local to greater Boston MA, or willing to relocate to the area
Experience with some or all the following:
• Traffic control devices such as electronic variable message boards, wrong way driver detection
• Surveillance technology and video management platforms
• Electronic Access Control hardware
• Communications networks including wi-fi, cellular, 5G, and fiber optics
• Emerging technologies such as solar, electric vehicle charging, or autonomous vehicle planning
• AutoCAD, Revit, and/or MicroStation
