What you will do

  • Support the safe growth and management of the Citi TTS business line and its associated higher risk segments through robust risk mitigation.
  • Execute and implement firm-wide AML risk management policy and strategic direction.
  • Maintain AML compliance program for the business including assessment of risks and the development of policies, procedures, and governance.
  • Identify and assess risk, vulnerabilities, and opportunities for efficient and effective risk coverage.
  • Work within team and across business/functional line management to assess complex issues, structure potential solutions, and drive effective resolution within permissible statutory and regulatory frameworks.
  • Evaluate and respond to escalated matters, further escalate as required, and advise senior management on next steps as needed.
  • Participate in and evaluate New Product and New Activity proposals including performing an AML risk analysis. Provide advice to the businesses regularly on new business initiatives, new products, business acquisitions, and client-related matters with respect to applicability of policies, resolution of potential red flags, or otherclient/transaction-relatedcompliance escalations.
  • Provide support and liaise with regulators and Citi internal audit staff for AML matters including coordinating AML related examinations, audit and reviews, document production, and issue replies.
  • Participate in and manage various internal assurance processes including regional enterprise wide and horizontal risk assessments, self-assessment, internal audit, and compliance testing review.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.

What we will need from you

  • Relevant Compliance/AML experience, preferably including Foreign Correspondent Banking,Fintech/NBFIs/Third-PartyPayments.
  • Strong understanding of the global payments ecosystem (SWIFT requirements) and associated transparency requirements.
  • Demonstrable experience in assessing new products for AML risk and ensuring appropriate controls are in place to mitigate risk.
  • Anti-Money Laundering (AML) certification
  • Experience in managing regulatory exams and relationships with examiners and auditors.
  • Extensive knowledge of appropriate regulatory requirements including local and US laws, international and industry standards. Given this role will be EMEA based, an understanding of UK and EU AML regulations would be beneficial, such as the EU Money Laundering Directive, UK Money Laundering Regulations and Funds Transfer Regulations/FATF Recommendation 16.
  • Extensive knowledge of AML regulations, risks, and appropriate controls.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, including the ability to analyze payment information and provide sound judgement of risk.
  • Demonstrated leadership and motivational skills, makes pragmatic decisions with confidence on behalf of the team in the Second Line of Defense.
  • Ability to work with regional and global partners, and influence and lead people across culture and senior level.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master’s degree preferred.
