Job Summary:

To position itself to meet the requirements of continuing rapid business growth and future market development, West Pharmaceutical Services have developed a transformation strategy of standardization, simplification and centralization of global accounting operations. In accordance with that strategy, we are establishing a Global Financial Centre of Excellence in Dublin, Ireland.

Working closely with the Finance Manager/Lead, in this role,As a Finance Intern, you will support the team in various financial tasks and projects. You will gain practical experience in financial analysis, Accounts Payable/Receivable, reporting and Procurement Operations. This internship is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and gain insights into the finance operations of a dynamic company and exploitation of opportunities offered by new information technologies.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include

  • Update vendor master records and vendor contact details.
  • Matching, coding, and processing of Vendors Invoices and Credit Notes.
  • Support the finance team with multiple mailbox management.
  • Review, generate, convert, and send accurate and timely purchase orders to designated suppliers in compliance with procurement procedures and global contracts.
  • Monitor and update open purchase orders regularly to reflect any changes or adjustments.
  • Facilitate the onboarding of new suppliers, ensuring all necessary documentation and compliance requirements are met.
  • Support the accounting team with day-to-day tasks, including ledger maintenance and reconciliation.
  • Conduct financial analysis, research and reporting development to aid decision-making processes.
  • Assist in the automation and improvement of financial processes.
  • Review and analyze reports and data to see where time efficiencies can be achieved by the business.
  • Participate in audits by gathering information and helping to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Ownership of personal development and to use training tools available.
  • Work on projects assigned by the Finance Management or other senior team members.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years completed on a 3rd level qualificationor equivalent.
  • Previous work experience desirable.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Team player, positive and flexible attitude
  • Excellent communication skills i.e. ability to communicate and work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Power BI knowledge
  • The ability to work on their own initiative as part of a hybrid model.
