Purpose of the role
The technical instructor’s main responsibility will be to instruct SPTS customer service engineers how to install and repair SPTS PVD modules. The instructor will be required to analyse the knowledge required by the CSE’s and build structured training courses to meet these requirements. In addition to training SPTS engineers, training will also be required to SPTS customers. Customer training may be delivered at the SPTS training facility or at the customer site so some international travel will be vital, as well as working closely with the SPTS engineering teams to develop training for new products. As well as face to face training, a key element will be partnering with the multimedia team to develop online training courses and AR/VR applications. Although this position will focus on SPTS PVD modules, there may be a requirement for the instructor to cross train and deliver training for other products.

Your day to day responsibilities will include:
- Teaching employees and customers service classes up to L4 on SPTS PVD Modules
- Understand and integrate various instructional delivery techniques to engage students, with required cultural sensitivity to deal and work with global students.
- Identify gaps and areas of improvement in existing techniques. Develop new BKMs (Best Known Methods) as needed.
- Audit and mentor junior and guest instructors to improve overall instructional delivery skills and curriculum standards to ensure the latest guidelines/templates are consistently implemented
- Maintain existing curriculum by implementing Tech talks
- Understand and apply various LKS (Learning Knowledge Service) guidelines and BKMs used to develop courseware inclusive of Task lists, Exams, Lab Practical’s, Homework’s, Instructor Guide and Student Guide.
- Recognise the product CoS (Cost of Service) issues, work with Technical Support to find opportunities for driving additional curriculum improvements beyond case studies.
- Be the project leader for developing NPI (New Product Introduction) curriculum, define the requirements, establish delivery timelines and provide monthly updates to partners- Initiate DCRs (Document Change Requests) to ensure service procedures are accurate and current
- Review and redline existing docs for content accuracy; edit existing docs that have been redlined
- Format and write new documents
- Perform regular training tool PMs (Preventative Maintenance) as per existing BKMs
- Identify any tool health issues, propose PoAs (Plan of Action) and work closely with Technical Support to recover tool using daily pass downs and SAMs (Service Alert Meeting) as needed.
- Work with the Technical Support team for standardization of the solutions, ensure knowledge is captured appropriately.
- Provide first level support to field as Technical Support equivalent
- Work with Technical Support team to support field L2 issues by attending daily SAMs and by providing on site support for L3 issues
