Job Summary

As an Investment Bank Associate in the Center for Carbon Transition, as part of Corporate Advisory, you will be a key player in the execution of the firm's business. You will work with expert professionals at the heart of a leading global investment bank. Senior bankers will get to know you - both as a person and as a valued member of a winning team. Job Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior team members to execute the development and implementation of the Firm’s strategy to align, over time, its financing portfolio with net zero emissions by 2050 across carbon-intensive sectors (e.g. oil and gas, power, autos, aviation, etc.)
  • Create, guide and review thematic content on key issues related to decarbonization and the firm’s financing portfolio
  • Act as subject matter expert on key decarbonization technologies across different sectors
  • Support high-impact events with corporate clients and thought leaders
  • Partner with J.P. Morgan product and coverage teams on cleantech and decarbonization focused engagements related to emerging sectors (e.g. carbon capture, geothermal, renewable fuels, etc.)
  • Engage on firmwide sustainability initiatives
  • Keep abreast of key energy transition market and policy developments and establish knowledge of relevant market dynamics
  • Provide leadership, mentorship and training to analysts

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably with an energy, environmental, and/or finance-related concentration
  • 3+ years prior work experience in an investment banking front office or related role in the financial industry
  • Demonstrated interest in energy, climate and decarbonization themes
  • Strong accounting, finance, quantitative and business writing skills
  • Proficient in MS Office, in particular PowerPoint and Excel
  • Impeccable communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with senior professionals within the bank and externally
  • Self-directed, highly motivated, and able to work independently
