Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Lead and initiate projects to optimize logistics transportation modes while meeting strict order delivery timelines, focusing on critical, non-conventional, high-value, or proof-of-concept (POC) deliveries in support of country logistics operations
  • Collaborate with country logistics, OTR, S&OP internally and with 3PL externally, for detailed project and operational planning to drive cross-functional alignment. Overcome roadblocks and resolve escalations to ensure successful project outcomes in line with internal and external customer requirements, company policy and international trade regulations
  • Scale POC and drive standardization across the AKA zones with sustainable transportation processes and effective operating mechanisms
  • Work with forwarders for shipment allocation for complex and critical-to-execute shipments leveraging market knowledge and partner relationships
  • Implement the optimal mix of transportation modes – road, ocean and air - to achieve on-time delivery with optimized logistics spend, and act as a strong partner to country operations team on related projects
  • Lead spend analysis and stay informed of logistics market dynamics to identify VCP opportunities, and oversee their feasibility through to execution
  • Drive the overall program concerning shipment packaging - accountable for defining and rolling out processes and standards, managing regulatory reporting, tracking quality, and promoting continuous improvements
  • Resolve and improve packaging issues encountered in both finished goods equipment and service parts logistics operations
  • Identify opportunities for freight savings via packaging change or design improvements, working with global packaging leaders
  • Lead operating mechanisms calls to ensure clear communication, robust engagement and alignment with stakeholders
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sourcing, operations, supply chain, finance and COEs to identify improvement opportunities in logistics operations and implement successful changes.
  • Lead or participate in AKA initiatives focused on process, productivity, and lean improvements, and support any other duties as assigned by Operations Director

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or Engineering
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience working in logistics, engineering, or supply chain management
  • Strong knowledge and experience in various transportation modes, import and export operations, shipment packaging, vendor management and understanding of local regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently meet deadlines in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Excellent project management skills coupled with exceptional analytical skills
  • Effective communication and influencing skills across, functions, countries and cultures
