Responsibilities:
Collaborate with design and layout engineers to develop integrated photonic circuits.
Utilize a variety of simulation tools, including Cadence Virtuoso design environment, to validate designs.
Work with process engineers to define and optimize device structures and manufacturing processes.
Perform characterization of high-speed devices in the lab, working closely with test-engineering teams.
Create test and qualification plans in collaboration with validation and quality engineers.
Validate device performance in coordination with photonic IC, packaging, and system architects.
Education:
MS in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Optics with 10+ years of experience, or PhD with 7+ years of related experience.
Experience:
Proficiency with photonics design and simulation tools such as Ansys / Lumerical, Photon Design, and Cadence Virtuoso.
Deep understanding of high-speed RF modeling and parametric extraction; experience with Ansys HFSS is desirable.
Hands-on experience in developing high-speed Silicon Photonics-based active and passive optical devices.
Expertise in the development of passive optical structures including couplers, splitters, muxing, and demuxing devices.
Familiarity with device correlation methods across wafer, die, and subsystem-level integration.
Strong team-working and collaboration skills.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual base salary range for this position is $141,000 - $225,000.
This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
