You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. Key job responsibilities-You will design and implement significant components and features that ensure network reliability, working within the Global Connectivity and Network Availability organization.
-This role requires strong technical expertise in distributed systems and programming, as you'll be responsible for creating performant, stable, and maintainable solutions that scale across AWS's worldwide infrastructure.
-You will collaborate with network engineers and various stakeholders, participate in architectural discussions, mentor junior team members, and contribute to operational excellence through code reviews, system optimization, and best practices implementation.
-The ideal candidate should be able to make pragmatic technical decisions, balance customer requirements with team needs, and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills while maintaining AWS's high standards for reliability and performance.A day in the life- Design, implement, and deploy software components and features.- Join the oncall rota to support our service during Seattle hours.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 3+ years of contributing to new and current systems architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) experience
- Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
