Being a member of the Incubations team means working on projects with high ambiguity. We needadept at looking around corners and creating order out of chaos so we land on the architecture and design from a myriad of options. We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer who can communicate the project strategy across a broad set of individuals – users, contributors, internal and external partners – with varying levels of technical depth.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#,Rust, Go,Java,,JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience

  • requiredto pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • building complex orchestration frameworks in the cloud native computing space.
  • Deep experience in Go and C#.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and cloud provisioning frameworks.
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
