U.S. Bank is seeking a full-time Senior Software Engineer – Mortgage & Consumer Loan Products in Irving, TX.

Essential Responsibilities:

Responsible for creating digital online banking microservices using Java spring boot to service the mortgage and consumer loan products. Works with mortgage and consumer loan product owners and technical product managers, design and architect the technical solutions for the business requirements. Specific duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Develop unit test cases using Junit and ensure code coverage is met per U.S. Bank enterprise team standards.
  • Create high-level design, low level design, overall solution diagram, and Sequence diagram to depict how all components are interacting using the confluence tool.
  • Conduct code reviews of artifacts developed by engineering team, provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development procedures, adhering to U.S. Bank standards.
  • Responsible for deploying digital online banking microservices using cloudbees Jenkin CI/CD pipeline to on-prem environments and cloud environments.
  • Engage Ping Federate team, configure microservices to send the key attributes to perform the Single Sign On (SSO) with external vendor site for mortgage.
  • Work with data platform team for data modeling of Cassandra data base tables, demonstrate technical requirements with data platform architects, and apply feedback.
  • Engage Enterprise API Solutions Engineering (EASE) team, configure digital microservices works with APIGEE layer, and secure microservices work with authorization/access tokens.
  • Conduct daily engineering team meeting, assign tasks to engineers, obtain status updates on tasks, and resolve technical impediments.
  • Work with enterprise architect team on architectural and technical designs of mortgage and consumer loan services reviewed and apply any feedback.
  • Work with DevOps team to configure the cloudbees Jenkins CI/CD pipeline, automatic quality gate scan using SonarQube, Blackduck, Twistlock, and Fortify.
  • Engage Performance engineering team to ensure microservices are load tested, achieving the expected transactions per seconds and apply recommended performance metrics in the API code.
  • Work with Money movement team, Authentication team, Fraud team, external team to deliver the end-to-end money movement functionalities for mortgage and consumer loan products.
  • Engage the monitoring team to configure dashboard and alerts for mortgage and consumer loan microservices, ensure engineering team are notified in case of production issues.
  • Ensure code quality gates tools SonarQube, Blackduck, Twistlock, and Fortify are in green for all the code deliverables of mortgage and consumer loan features and ensure all microservices having zero critical/high vulnerabilities before the deployment to production.
  • Perform mortgage and consumer loan microservices deployment to various online banking environment including pre-production, employee, production, and failover environment. Adhere to the enterprise release management timelines.
  • Monitor microservices, troubleshoot and provide solution to production issues from the log metric collected using Splunk, Kibana, and App Dynamics tools.
  • Works with Quality Assurance team on for mortgage and consumer loan feature validation, fixing any defects and ensuring no issues before release.

Basic Qualifications:

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and 5 years (progressive, post-baccalaureate) software development experience.

Required Skills/Experience:


Must also have 24 months of experience with each of the following:

1) Build and deployment tools including Maven, logging and debugging using Log4j, unit and integration testing using JUnit. Code review of artifacts.

2) Finding and fixing quality issues from tools including SonarQube, Blackduck, Twistlock, and Fortify.

3) Requirements analysis, translating business requirements to technical requirements, creating proof of concepts, and preparing architectural documents and high- and low-level design documents.

5) Performance improvement, and monitoring and managing clusters application instances in on-prem and cloud platforms.

6) Using the following tools or technologies: Jenkins Cloudbees, Java Spring Boot Microservices, IntelliJ, Javascript, jQuery, Angular, Knockout, .NET Web Services, REST services, Cassandra, Maven, Kubernetes, Rancher, JUnit, Fortify, Splunk, Kibana, Microsoft Azure, Blackduck, and Sonarqube.
