Key job responsibilities
- Setup, configure, operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and de-rig event/AV equipment.
- Ability to operate in role autonomously, lead, train and oversee vendor engineer personnel.
- Report any problems that arise with complex equipment, make repairs as able.
- System and inventory management, maintain data/records of equipment use.
- Develop, document and maintain event/AV standards and drive process improvements.
A day in the life
Pre-event:
• Communicate with Event producer to determine technical needs.
• Setup, configuration, and thorough testing of equipment ahead of event.Event delivery:
• Operation of event/AV equipment (audio, video, lighting)
• Optimizing systems for the best quality attainable.
• Adaptable to customer needs and changes.Post-event:
• Assist with de-rig of event space(s), ensuring correct equipment handling and storage.
• Participate in post-event feedback discussions/surveys.
- 3+ years experience in events production.
- 3+ years of experience with video and audio operation, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Ross video processors, Cisco VC equipment, Yamaha professional mixing consoles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to adjust work schedule to business needs.
- Positive minded with a ‘can do’ attitude.
- 2 – 4 year degree in A/V, technical theater or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Deep understanding of live audio/video mixing principles, troubleshooting and problem solving for relevant systems and equipment.
- Background in event AV, including audio, video, lighting and staging systems.
- Knowledge of MS Office suite.
