This position entails system design and development of inertial sensors, Inertial Measurement Units (IMU) and Inertial Navigation Systems (INS), supporting both new product development and next generation upgrades of in-service products. Target product platforms will include missiles, munitions, aircraft, marine, and other commercial applications.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and augment navigation equations - direction cosine and quaternion

Calibrate inertial sensors and inertial systems

Evaluate sensor & system performance – ex: reading and understanding Root Alan Variance (RAV)

Support trade studies and issue resolution (e.g. FMEA, RCCA) activities

Manage internal stakeholders and their needs

Support customer flow-down requirement analysis, feasibility assessment, technical solution development

Support system documents development, including but not limited to system-level requirements, Interface Control Document, Hardware Requirements Specification, Performance Verification Test Plan Procedure, Certification documents

YOU MUST HAVE

Bachelor’s Degree inElectrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar technical field

10+ years’ experience in Navigation

WE VALUE

Experience in systems guidance and navigation testing and analysis

Understanding of INS/GPS systems with emphasis in simulation and analysis, Kalman Filtering design, inertial sensor analysis techniques, differential GPS, and classical controls

Experience with Matlab/Simulink or other similar modeling tools

Strong math and analytical skills

Familiarity with Department of Defense programs and processes

Advanced knowledge of the systems development lifecycle

Individuals that quickly analyze, incorporate and apply new information and concepts

Model based system engineering capability

Ability to adapt dictated by project changes

Multi-tasking and the ability to manage a variety of complicated tasks

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Working knowledge of software development as an engineering discipline, including some programming skills

Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done

Six Sigma Green Belt certification
