Our goal is to develop new APIs and repackage our existing APIs into a scalable platform that can help key verticals and grow our developer and partner ecosystem. This role is very strategic and requires working with internal and external stakeholders to create both platform strategy and roadmap.
With your seasoned API product management experience, you will translate strategy into an API platform, create and manage API roadmaps, prepare for monetization and sell the value of Knox APIs to API consumers. You will advocate your API platform including justification for any investment of development resources and articulate the return on investment for the creation and running of such APIs.

Role and Responsibilities

• Lead product vision and strategy, roadmap, and go-to-market for API products
• Make scope and prioritization decisions, balancing multiple competing inputs against the product strategy
• Work with engineering team to ship high quality API products
• Define and manage KPIs, with close collaboration with the data analysis team
• Collaborate with developer and partner teams to understand pain points and evangelize API products
• Influence key stakeholders across a matrixed organization where authority may be limited
• Work closely with UX design, engineering, technology operations and business teams to ensure the product vision and roadmap gets executed
• Work closely with documentation and tech support team to provide industry-leading developer support
• Manage shifting priorities, limited resources, and dependencies; change direction quickly where necessary
• Analyze the market and competitors to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges

Skills and Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field
• 5+ years working with API products and developer communities
• 10+ years of end-to-end product lifecycle experience with a focus on technology innovation
• Experience in one or more of the fields of cloud services, enterprise solutions, web architecture, mobile applications, developer services (SDKs, APIs), mobile security and data driven solutions
• Experience in software development with APIs, systems integration or solutions architecture
• Understanding of RESTful concepts and JSON
• Experience across multiple software development methodologies, specifically Agile and Waterfall
• Ability to confidently deal with ambiguity, uncertainty, and working with teams in the Asian time zone (mainly Korean time zone)
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on stakeholder management, negotiation and persuasion, and comfortable working across different cultures
• Highly organized with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
• An aptitude to learn and to innovate in a rapidly changing environment
• Bonus: Domain knowledge of mobile device management, big data analytics or machine learning
• Bonus: Experience in client and partner facing roles consulting, sales engineering or business development
