What a typical day looks like:
- Coordinate people resource requirements for the department.
- Communicate priority tasks to team daily and lead efforts towards production goals.
- Help alert other departments about planned and unplanned downtime.
- Avoid downtime due to material shortages by ensuring that lines are supplied with sufficient materials.
- Update “pass down” and “down time” communication reports to ensure communication flow with opposite shift.
- Follow quality indicators and help alert others if predefined indicators fall below the target.
- Organize employees’ at assigned workstations and rearrange assignments when necessary.
- Identify cause of mass failures and make the necessary adjustments to overcome errors.
- Motivate and mentor individual employees and small groups of employees.
- Monitor employees’ performance and communicate to trainers what additional training is needed.
- Have the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform all job requirements in area of responsibility.
- Be a leader in promoting compliance with 5S+1 and quality assurance practices.
- Be supervisors first point of contact and be able to fill in for supervisor when necessary.
- Ensure that accepted reasonable accommodations are met for employees in area of responsibility.
