As anbased inyou’ll join a collaborative team ensuring that our clients can deliver their services – uninterrupted. Under supervision, performs a variety of tasks associated with learning the associated responsibilities of an Industrial Technician in Training.
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Read meters and gauges, conduct tests and record data.
• Regenerate and rinse softener systems, assist and/or perform cleaning of Microfiltration and RO membrane systems.
• Draws samples of product from tanks or sumps for laboratory testing.
• Report unit operating conditions to lead technicians or control room supervisor and monitors trends to assess plant process optimization.
• Make adjustments for evaporator vessel and heat exchanger cleaning, belt press controls and limit waste production using efficient plant processes.
• Turn valves and switches to regulate temperature, pressure, pH, and flow rates, regulate equipment, such as compressors and blowers. Gauge product in tanks and operate pumps and agitators to mix polymer.
• Patrol area and inspect equipment to detect malfunction and leakage, report findings, and assist maintenance staff (estimated max 20% of day shift only) in performing routine and non-routine maintenance and repairs.
• Learn and maintain an overall understanding of all systems and upgrades to train others and perform optimization.
• Learn and maintain a constant awareness of new or different procedures or techniques for improving operations or assist in implementing new procedures.
• Learn, assist, and maintain control room and plant housekeeping and provide cleaning assistance to others.
• Observe and monitor chemical offloading and perform drum change-outs of drum or small volume chemicals.
• Utilize All Terrain Lift to move sludge dumpsters, unload and load materials, dump trash dumpsters, provide assistance with outage maintenance activities.
• Show initiative to work as a team with others as required and have ability to work alone.
• Support and comply with all environmental health and safety programs and policies.
**Schedule: Employee must be able to work 12-hour shifts (possibly rotating shifts)**
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, mechanical and electrical diagrams and drawings
• Knowledge of basic water treatment and filtration processes
• Familiarity with general industrial equipment operations and maintenance of motors and pumps
• Ability to operate all terrain lift and/or forklift in safe manner
• Basic mechanical experience or aptitude to learn
• Basic Electrical and Pneumatic experience
• Ability to write detailed technical entries and good verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills to work and communicate independently and with team
• Valid driver’s license with no major infractions required
Ideally, you'll also have:
• PC/PLC experience preferred
• Basic Chemical Hygiene, laboratory skills, or HAZCOM experience preferred
• Proficiency with basic computer software preferred (MS Office, email, internet applications)
• 6 months experience preferred as similar responsibilities (not required to be in same field)
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
The physical and environmental demands required to perform the essential duties of this position include standing, walking, sitting, coordination, balance and agility demands, which may include the ability to stoop, kneel, squat, grasp, reach, perform repetitive hand movements. Additional demands may involve a specific level of dexterity, grip strength, climbing and cardiorespiratory demands. The work areas may be indoor, outdoor, have loud noise, active machinery, high pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights and depths, fumes, air borne particles, noxious gases, and chemicals. The use of appropriate safety equipment will be mandatory in these areas to prevent hazardous contact.
• Must be able to perform job duties while wearing a respirator and ability to qualify for full-face respirator
• Must be able to lift and work overhead, to stoop and to crouch
• Must be able to lift and/or move 40 lbs. on a regular basis
• Must be able to climb ladders and work at elevations of 100 ft.
• Must be able to walk the full perimeter of the plant multiple times during the shift.
• Basic visual and auditory abilities.
• Must be able to regularly rope crank up to 10 lbs
