As an Associate within Global Corporate Banking, you will contribute to the deal team by managing a portfolio of commercial real estate credits and relationships in a dynamic, regulated environment. You are expected to possess a foundational understanding of commercial real estate finance and lending, with the opportunity to enhance these skills further in this position. Strong analytical and business writing abilities are essential, and since the role involves customer interaction, effective communication skills are required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preliminary deal screening for secured loan opportunities, performing a variety of credit analysis.
  • Conduct market analysis and creates underwriting/screening materials.
  • Understand and apply credit and regulatory policies.
  • Work with Credit Originators to size and structure loans to mitigate risks and liabilities.
  • Prepare underwriting and investment committee memorandums.
  • Work with numerous internal teams to facilitate loan closings.
  • Monitor loan and portfolio performance post-closing, including identifying and escalating issues.
  • Communicate with clients on loan deliverables.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills::

  • Superior analytical and business writing skills
  • Good interpersonal skills with internal partners, counsel, clients and senior management.
  • Accounting and finance knowledge, as well as knowledge of real estate fundamentals and concepts
  • Completion of a major corporate bank credit training program (or the equivalent corporate banking/corporate finance experience)

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • 3+ years of commercial real estate banking/lending experience
  • Knowledge of JPMC or similar bank policies and procedures preferred
  • A BS/BA degree (Business, Finance & Accounting preferred; all majors considered)
  • Experience in the fund finance/ subscription lending industry
  • Experience with cash flow modeling and financial statement analysis is preferred
