Job responsibilities

• Advise teams across CCB on the evaluation and adoption of leading-edge technologies and their applicability within the data technology ecosystem.
• Advises cross-functional teams on technology selection to achieve target state architecture and decisions on improvements to current technologies.
• Develops strategic roadmaps aligned with business and architecture strategy and priorities.
• Leads the firm’s data modernization efforts and product development in service of executing against data technologies strategic priorities
• Makes high-impact decisions on the strategic direction for key technologies in collaboration with senior leadership
• Stays current on the latest industry trends and other technological advances, and leverages industry expertise to influence the firm’s technology and future development
• Serves as the function’s go-to subject matter expert.
• Champions the firm’s culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
  

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Experience with modern big data projects including Apache Spark and Apache Iceberg
• Experience with AWS services such as Glue, Lake Formation, and EMR
• Experience with platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake.
• Experience designing platforms to support data ingestion and transformation.
• Experience with policy management and access control design.
• Ability to present and effectively communicate to Senior Leaders and Executives
• Experience applying expertise and new methods to determine solutions for complex architecture problems in one or more technical disciplines
• Understanding of the business
• Practical cloud native experience

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• AWS Experience preferred
• Consumer banking products and ecommerce domain knowledge preferred
