Role Overview:

The successful candidate will contribute to meeting the governance and reporting requirements for the UK and Europe Operations Heads and supporting the team in maintaining and developing a comprehensive process and governance framework to identify, report and reduce operational risk within Operations for the UK and European legal entities.

What you’ll do:

  • Deliver activities to support the governance frameworks for UK and European Legal Entity Senior Managers which encompasses supporting a monthly governance forum, chaired by the Senior Manager and ongoing management of Regulatory Documentation and a Delegation framework for the Senior Manager to support them in meeting requirements of the Accountability regime.
  • Execute and ensure continuous improvement of the end-to-end monthly reporting process to produce high quality materials supporting a monthly control and governance Forum, chaired by the Senior Manager.
  • Collation and analysis of various reporting and key risk indicators used by Senior Managers for governance and management of their operational risks via a monthly forum including but not limited to: Issue remediation, Internal Audits, Losses/Gains, Near Miss events, Balance Sheet Exceptions, Conduct Risk.
  • Collation of commentary and reasons for any breaches in KRIs as well as collation of quantitative updates from Delegates across all Functions and Countries as well as for escalations, matters for awareness and significant projects, etc.
  • Review and challenge of commentary and updates from Delegates across all O&T Functions to ensure high quality, clear information is reported at the monthly forum.
  • Assist in the management of the monthly governance forum through tracking and ensuring attendance by Delegates, tracking open actions and topics for future meetings, preparing meeting minutes.
  • Monitoring of open Issues across the O&T Senior Managers estate to ensure Issues are closing on a timely basis and are escalated as being at risk if applicable. Perform analysis of Issue estate to highlight open risk areas and risk concentration. Report findings and status to the Senior Manager.
  • Analyse information and identify potential themes and trends seen within management information to ensure potential control issues are escalated, proactively addressed and resolved. Proactively suggest and recommend improvements to how risk areas are captured and reported. Present analysis at various forums and to seniors
  • Support the team management in ensuring all the specific requirements associated with Accountability Regimes such as the UK Senior Manager and Compliance Regime and the Ireland Senior Executive Accountability Regime are adhered to and documented accordingly, including Senior Manager delegation and responsibility metrics.
  • Deliver high quality reliable reporting and management information that may be used in support of the risk and control framework for various other Legal Entity Forums such as Operations Control meetings, Legal, Audit Committee, Business Risk & Control Committee (BRCC) etc.
  • Manage and continually develop relationships with multiple stakeholders including senior Operations management, Control Officers, various data providers and CAO Offices. Work with colleagues in other areas of Risk Management across first and second lines of defense and the Businesses, to ensure appropriate management of Operational Risk.
  • Understand and utilise risk reporting systems used for KRI collation and reporting. Establish relationships with system owners and SMEs to ensure continuous complete and accurate reporting.
  • Continuous development and regular review of KRIs to ensure ongoing appropriate governance of risk and control issues and policy compliance for senior management to infer actions and demonstrate oversight for Regulators.
  • Contribute to a robust control environment within the team to ensure accuracy and high standards at all times for a senior audience across all deliverables as well as Regulator scrutiny.
  • Contribute to developing systems and procedures to improve process efficiency and maintain best practice. Reviewing current processes and developing & implementing effective solutions to eliminate manual intervention and drive automation and efficiency opportunities is a key part of the role.
