As a Storm Drainage Design Mid-Level Engineer for our designated Design-Build practice, you’ll have opportunity to grow your career on a variety of exciting, career-shaping infrastructure projects including some of the region’s leading large-scale transportation projects. Our Bellevue-based team is seeking a Mid-Level Storm Drainage Design Engineer to work on Design-Build projects. In this role, you will be joining the premiere Design-Build team in Washington state, working on complex design-build highway and fish passage projects for Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) and others. Design-Build projects provide you opportunity to work and learn from members of our large delivery team and the contractor, allowing you to see your design constructed shortly after plans are released. You will advance your technical skills while gaining valuable experience to grow your career at Jacobs. As a Mid-Level Storm Drainage Engineer, you will work with a team and conduct stormwater design and drainage design revisions made throughout the duration of the Design-Build contracts. You will be focused on production of the final design plans and calculations that meet WSDOT standards and Request for Proposal requirements. You will work on storm drainage design and hydraulic modeling on highway and fish passage projects. Work may range from preliminary design for a proposal to final construction documents, including writing and assembling stormwater and hydraulic reports. Typical activities may include performing hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, providing detailed calculations, and producing construction plans and drainage reports. Hydrology and hydraulic models used for typical projects include WWHM, MGSFlood, and others required to meet state and local agency requirements. You will have the opportunity to exercise judgment and make recommendations in the development and creation of storm drainage plans for complex, multidisciplinary Design-Build projects. • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or similar
• Have a Washington PE license, or have the qualifications and ability to attain a Washington PE license within two years
• 4 to 9 years of experience in the design of highway-related drainage elements
• Direct design experience and knowledge of implementing low impact development-type stormwater treatment techniques
• Ability to work independently and manage design tasks
• Working knowledge of MicroStation (2D) • Hydrologic modeling experience using Western Washington Hydraulic Model or MGS Flood Ideally, you’ll also have: • Recent WSDOT highway drainage design experience, especially for Design-Build
• Proficiency with Inroads (3D)
• Experience on Design-Build projects • Familiarity with 1D and 2D HEC-RAS Models, SRH2D Models
• Familiarity with Washington State Department of Ecology and WSDOT design manuals
• Familiarity with developing Temporary Erosion Sediment Control plans and Construction Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans • Envision Sustainability Professional or LEED Accredited Professional
