Your responsibilities will include:

  • Perform mechanical design and redesign of medical devices applying engineering principles and advanced modeling techniques.
  • Create and modify solid models using CAD tools integrated with a data management system.
  • Complete prototypes and fixtures by detailing parts from layouts, sketches, and verbal instructions.
  • Collaborate with R&D engineering and vendors to develop robust product designs, incorporating feedback from cross-functional departments in a timely manner.
  • Conduct fit and tolerance analysis to guide design changes and maintain robust product quality.
  • Lead prototype construction and procurement, including obtaining quotes and services.
  • Comply with internal standard operating procedures, industry standards and regulations.
  • Develop fully detailed design documentation, incorporating the knowledge & use of GD&T and ASME standards.

What We're Looking For in You:

Required qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Computer Aided Design or Bachelor's in similar field
  • 5 years of experience in Mechanical Design using SolidWorks®.
  • Strong leadership, accountability, and project ownership skills, with the ability to plan and prioritize work to meet project demands.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and customer-focused individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience as the lead mechanical designer for a product line or product development project.
  • Experience using SolidWorks PDM® / Windchill® PLM software.
  • Ability to resolve design, technology, and CAD process issues innovatively, in a proactive, collaborative, and compliant manner.
  • Experience in active electromechanical implantable devices
  • Experience with active implantable device components (e.g., leads)
  • Certified SolidWorks® Professional (CSWP) or Certified SolidWorks® Expert (CSWE) certifications
  • Design-specific knowledge and expertise (e.g., Design for Manufacturing and Assembly, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing, Tolerance Analysis)
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of electrical CAD
  • Experience working in global, multicultural, hybrid, and virtual teams
