Reporting to the, therole will be Responsible for specifying, designing, and maintaining automation equipment, tooling and applications as required to meet specifications for manufacturing cables to include cut to length, strip, crimp, and labeling operations.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- Design, engineer, and modify existing and new moderately complex automation equipment, tooling and applications to automate manufacturing processes.
- Establish technical manuals, drawings, models, training documentation, preventative maintenance plans and troubleshooting guides for automated equipment and automated processes.
- Understand the machine operating standards, consequences of wear and tear parts and product defects
- Ensure the uptime of machines through regular preventive maintenance and breakdown maintenance Ensuring proper start up and functionality of equipment
- Creating maintenance plans for the equipment
- Cross training operations on equipment use
- Developing procedures and standards
- Maintaining spare parts
- Executing maintenance plans and working with suppliers on new products or enhancements to satisfy new production requirements.
- Willing to learn & enhance the skill in all type of Automation equipment.
- Prepare why-why evaluation & drive for permanent corrective actions.
- Ability to give feedback to improve the design of process and equipment.
- Directs daily department activities to maximize equipment utilization and support production needs
- Coordinates maintenance activities with other functional groups such as engineering and operations to ensure the efficient operation of the departmental function.
- Collaborates and offers input to planning, building, and maintaining the Automation framework and associated processes for new products.
- Identifies and drives change to ensure automation effectiveness of existing processes.
- Demonstrates and thorough understanding of customer requirements, offer suggestions and ideas on how best to deliver automation solutions
Here is some of what you’ll need:
- 4 year degree in automation, electrical or mechanical engineering. Or related 4-year degree.
- Experience with automated cable manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Experience with maintaining and improving automated equipment.
- Experience working with suppliers to strategically implement new equipment and streamline cable manufacturing processes.
- Experience improving equipment OEE.
- Experience with automation equipment change overs.
