• Build innovative, self-serviceable and scalable platforms and orchestration services to facilitate Big Data migration to public cloud in the multi-year journey of PayPal cloud journey with itssubsidiaries.

• Anchor major team workstreams to build and improve large-scale distributed systems, reduce complexity, increase automation and burn down technical debt.

• Mentor other software engineers as a tech lead of the team

• Induce best practices of coding, design and reusability. Effectively participate in code reviews.

• Support production systems (Team rotation based)

What do you need to bring:

• 6+ years of experience in software engineering with atleast 2+ in technical leadership

• 2+ plus years of designing backend and mid-tier services using REST API + one of these technologies – Golang, Spring Boot, Java

• Hands-on experience in tuning and writing scalable SQL queries

• Design and Operational Experience with large scale production grade distributed systems

• Experience with one of the major cloud providers - AWS, Azure, GCP

• Experience in orchestration systems like Airflow, Argo.

• Strong understanding of real time streaming technologies Spark and Kafka

Good To Have

• Server-side software development experience

• Experience in managing big-data infrastructure at petabyte scale

• Analytics backgroundto understand our stakeholders

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
