As a Senior Tax Staff, in ITTS - DIG you will be part of a small but growing team that is pioneering digital transformation across EY Canada’s Tax Practice to help our professionals drive operational efficiencies through automation and go to market with competitive offerings. You will work across tax disciplines and closely with various Tax service line engagement teams to scope out their tax data problems and create data efficient solutions for their existing business processes.

Donning your entrepreneurial hat during the product discovery phase, you’ll reimagine how critical business lines perform their work while reducing costs and increasing client satisfaction. You will experience the best of both worlds working on a small dynamic team with the resources and backing of large global organization while you embark on this transformational journey.

Skills and attributes for success

  • A strong accounting and or finance background with a preference for exposure to data analytics and or technology.
  • The ability to read financial statements and understand the advanced concepts of reconciliations and how financial statements interact with tax reporting.
  • A strong grasp of the principles of account groupings, equity accounting, consolidations and the computation of taxable income for tax reporting.
  • The ability to take ownership of your responsibilities, with a willingness to help, learn, and go extra mile.
  • A drive for improving process - always looking for ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of how financial and tax data is managed.
  • The ability to manage multiple high-priority projects and navigate ambiguity in a deadline-driven, matrix work environment.
  • A genuine enthusiasm towards learning, taking on new challenges, collaborating on new ideas and navigating new digital platforms.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

To qualify, candidates must have

  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting or another relevant academic major.
  • 3 or more years experience in accounting or tax.
  • Understanding complex, multinational organizational structures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with the strong influencing abilities needed to achieve results
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational, time and project management skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills and an aptitude for learning new applications.
  • The ability to maintain accurate and up to date information in the work planning system, D-Tox and client TEAMS Planners.

The salary range for this job in British Columbia is $60,000 to $97,000. Individual salaries within this range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and work location city.
