About the Legal Traineeship

  • We offer either 3- or 6-month internships as part of the legal traineeship or elective station.
  • As a legal trainee, you will work closely with colleagues in the Government Affairs team on legal and regulatory issues and gain insights into the legal and regulatory aspects of Microsoft´s government affairs work.
  • Microsoft pays appropriate compensation for the work in compliance with the guidelines set by the responsible authorities of federal states.

Qualifications
  • You have successfully completed the first state law examination with above-average results and are currently completing your legal traineeship (“Rechtsreferendariat”) or have been admitted to it.
  • You bring a proven professional interest in the field of internet and media law and are specifically interested in working at theintersectionof law and political communication.
  • You are enthusiastic about technology and capable of analyzing the legal implications of new technological developments, even apart from existing commentary literature.
  • You communicate confidently in English, both orally and in writing.
  • As a team player, you like to learn every day from and with your team.
  • You speak German and English fluently, both verbally and in writing.
  • You must be legallyauthorisedto work in Germany to be eligible for this role.(Legallyauthorised= has citizenship or has been granted a valid visa or work permit)for

Responsibilities
  • You support the Government Affairs team with analyses of current legislative processes and regulatory initiatives as well asregulatoryauthority and court decisions.
  • You will prepare memos and presentations on regulatory developments with the aim of explaining complex legal issues in an easily understandable way within the company
  • You will support external Government Affairs work by contributing to position papers, presentations, briefings & debriefings of meetings you attend.
