Job Title:Staff Cloud Engineer

is responsible forWe support multiple public cloud vendors (GCP) in our environments.

You will be influencing some of the key decisions on Public Cloud Engineering efforts, adoptions, best practices, and efficiency programs within PayPal as we continue our expansion into Public Cloud. You will be instrumental in getting PayPal internal engineering teams to migrate and expand their workloads into Public Cloud in a seamless and efficient manner.

Your Day to Day:

• Work on Public Cloud infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, CrossPlane, Harness, Jenkins, to deploy automated infrastructure builds.
• Triage any issues in Public Cloud environment and analyze the root cause.
• Learn and work with programming languages like GoLang for building automation platforms.
• Work on Kubernetes platform as part of the infrastructure platform.
• Be able to drive software solutions end to end, from design, implementation, testing to release phase.
• Perform and apply high quality software analysis, design, development, testing and maintenance for the PayPal core technology platform.
• Work cross-functionally across internal engineering teams, internal customers and product managers in various geo-locations across the world.

What You Need to Bring:

• A successful candidate will bring a minimum of 5+ years’ experience working in Cloud DevOps with a background in backend development (preferred)
• ExperiencePublic Cloud technologies and toolswhich are requiredto build scalable solutions in Public Cloud Providers like GCP or AWS is required
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is preferred
• Backend development experience with GoLang is preferred but not required
• Knowledge of DevOpscontainer/orchestrationtools (Kubernetes, Docker, Puppet, etc.)
• An eagerness to learnnew technologiesand partner with variousteamsgiving PayPal Public Cloud users the best experience.
• A BS/MS/Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field is preferred but notrequired

The US national annual pay range for this role is $152,500 to $262,350
