The AV Systems Engineer III will ensure critical systems and SaaS platforms' reliability, availability, and scalability. Systems under the care of an AV Systems Engineer III must operate effectively and reliably through scalable solutions and complex architectures encompassing modern technologies. You will work closely with technical and non-technical teams within the organization to facilitate the design and implementation of solutions, drive automation initiatives, and monitor and maintain the performance of critical systems.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain technology systems to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security.
  • Build and deploy technology solutions translated from user stories and requirements. Manage the system lifecycle from implementation to shutdown and decommissioning.
  • Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms such as automation and evolve systems by fostering changes that improve velocity. Leverage automation and configuration management to streamline systems administration.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues, including systems failures, connectivity problems, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable and robust system architectures.
  • Evaluate and recommend new solutions, tools, and methodologies to enhance system efficiency, security, and productivity.
  • Monitor system performance, proactively identify potential issues, generate meaningful reports, and implement preventive measures to maintain system health and uptime.
  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization activities to maximize system efficiency and response times.
  • Respond to and help manage incidents. Participate in RCA activities and assist with defining SLOs and SLIs for business stakeholders.
  • Implement and enforce security best practices to protect our systems, data, and infrastructure against unauthorized access, cyber threats, and vulnerabilities.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive knowledge bases for system documentation, including standard operating procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting guides, to support end-users ability to use the systems effectively.
  • Participate in on-call rotation.
  • Responsible for upholding F5's Business Code of Ethics and promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Familiarity with compliance and regulatory guidelines
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as an integral member of an agile team
  • Experience with observability tooling, including logging infrastructure, tracing systems, alert definitions, etc.
  • Proficient communication, planning, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and organization skills
  • Proficiency in CAD software for designing AV system layouts and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve complex AV system issues.
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure and protocols relevant to AV systems, such as TCP/IP, VLANs, and QoS.
  • Understanding of audio and video codecs, compression techniques, and streaming protocols.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, clients, and vendors.
  • Project management skills to handle multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

  • Strong knowledge of AV system components, including video conferencing, displays, audio, control, and networking.
  • Extensive experience with AV system installation, configuration, and troubleshooting, and vendor management.
  • Proficiency in programming and configuring control systems, such as Crestron or QSC.
  • Familiarity with various AV standards, protocols, and codecs.
  • Experience with audio and video signal processing and distribution.
  • Knowledge of room acoustics, lighting, and other environmental factors impacting AV system design.
  • Experience in managing large-scale AV system deployments and projects.
  • Familiarity with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in the AV field.
  • Project management experience a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. A degree in audiovisual technology, telecommunications, or information technology focusing on AV systems is also relevant.
  • 5+ years experience in AV Engineering or a similar role in a technology environment.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language
  • Hands-on experience with technology systems tools, protocols, and platforms

The annual U.S. base pay range for this position is: $109,955.00 - $164,933.00
