This is a hands-on position where you will be involved in everything from requirements gathering to design and delivery of new software. As a software development engineer, you will be responsible for driving the technical direction of a complex software system. At the same time, you will work closely with data scientists to investigate and optimize the performance of new designs. You will be working with a cross-functional team to prototype, design, and develop software solutions that span local, service oriented and cloud-based systems.A commitment to teamwork and strong communication skills (with both business and technical partners) are absolute requirements. Creating reliable, scalable, and high-performance software products requires technical expertise, a sound understanding of the fundamentals of computer science and software engineering, and practical experience building large-scale distributed systems. - Drive consensus on technical decisions and ensure the appropriate resources are employed to deliver high quality results
- Identify, assess, track and mitigate issues and risks at the project level
- Create, maintain, and disseminate our product roadmap to stakeholders
- Drive and support multiple programs and manage competing priorities
- Triage and prioritize bugs and new feature requests

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
