Job Description


An employee to whom specific leadership responsibilities have been delegated as part of his/her regular job. Employee will have no responsibility or authority regarding personnel matters in the group such as hiring, firing, disciplinary action, etc., which are the sole responsibility of Management but will recommend actions to management as necessary.

Responsibilities-

  • Train employees to applicable Operation Instructions (OI), Standard Manufacturing Practice (SMP), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Equipment set-up and performance of related first piece inspection to insure achievement of desired quality levels.
  • Performance of ongoing quality checks, recording of requested data and timely reporting of discrepancies.
  • Monitoring of machine and process variables, taking corrective action as required and promptly reporting conditions negatively impacting quality, output, or equipment performance.
  • Interface with electronic quality, production and documentation systems providing accurate information.
  • Completion of any other activities required to deliver finished piece parts to the specified quality levels on a timely basis.
  • Comply with EHS regulations and policies. Group Leader Responsibilities Include:
  • Direct the work activities of a defined group of employees
  • Be responsible for the work of a defined group
  • Assist in planning and scheduling of work
  • Instruct employees in proper methods: ensure all training is documented using required forms
  • Perform and support any type of work required for proper functioning of a group: to include normal production, rework, indirect work, etc.
  • Assist engineering and manufacturing support on the development and prove out of new products, methods, tools and test equipment.
  • Communicate to the group all changes and assure compliance
  • Provide to shift supervisor quantities at the end of the shift and recommend ways of making up any deficiencies in expected quantities
  • Communicate shortages on the floor to shift supervisor/materials personnel and accumulate the necessary parts and/or materials to the group
  • Must demonstrate a high degree of self-initiative, leadership and quality consciousness
  • Communicate to the shift supervisor repeated problems of product within the group. This communication is assumed to include other Team Leaders both on shift as well as between shifts and assist in problem solving
  • Additional department specific responsibilities may be established

Qualifications-


Quality Specific Goals: 1. Aware of and comply with the GEHC EHS, Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position 2. Complete all planned EHS, Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines 3. Identify and report any EHS, Quality or Compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required 4. Training: Aware of and comply with GEHC training requirements 5. Knowledge and understanding of production process, work instructions, documentation configuration control, non-conforming & rework documentation requirements and operates within them to ensure that a device conforms to its specification. 6. Aware of and comply with Stop Order, Concessions, ESD, Calibration, Preventative Maintenance, Material Identification & Segregation, and Good Documentation Practices, as associated with this job type/position 1. Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written instructions. 2. Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and interpret mechanical drawings including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. 3. Demonstrated ability in shop mathematics to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division decimals and fractions
