The Legal Division
As a Division we are focussed on our people and their development and are committed to creating an environment that is diverse and inclusive. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
More specifically, the role responsibilities include:
- Advising PWM and Marcus on all aspects of the client relationship from pitches through to structuring of accounts and account opening procedures, negotiation of account documentation and investment restrictions, and support on client or transaction-specific questions.
- Advising PWM and Marcus on a variety of business issues, including new business initiatives, impact of regulation on new and existing business, and changes to existing product and service offerings.
- Advising on a wide range of regulatory topics across the UK and EU, such as interpretation of new and existing regulations and assessment of the impact of regulations to our business activities, advising on complex cross-border questions, and assisting with the identification of new regulations that may impact the PWM and/or Marcus businesses.
- Advising product specialists in PWM and Marcus on all aspects of product development and documentation.
- Liaising with other lawyers in the Goldman Sachs Legal Division globally.
- Liaising with outside counsel on a broad range of domestic and cross-border jurisdictional issues.
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
We are targeting qualified lawyers in the 2-4 years PQE range (ideally with experience in asset management, regulation, retail banking or private wealth). Candidates are expected to have relevant post-qualification experience either with a reputable law firm or as in-house counsel. Knowledge of a major European language would be useful.
