This role requires the ability to influence a team in developing detailed mechanical equipment specifications and evaluating the merit and risks of design changes.Key job responsibilities
- Lead innovative, high-performance teams of technical associates under challenging timelines
- Demonstrate strong engineering judgment and ability to provide recommendations despite uncertainty
- Apply data-driven and detail-oriented approaches to problem-solving
- Utilize extensive experience and knowledge in mechanical engineering, product development, and data center cooling technology- Build trust and develop relationships with different stakeholders (e.g., reliability, operations, design, compliance)
- Manage concurrent projects across multiple geographic zones
- Communicate complex systems in clear and concise language
- Support operations including failure mode and root cause analysis, maintenance and troubleshooting support, and operating procedure review for both mechanical and electrical issues- Contribute to our global knowledge base and drive continuous improvement at scaleA day in the lifeAmazon values diverse experiences. - Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical engineering. Will also accept equivalent domain specific technical experience in lieu of a degree.
- 7+ years in data center design and product development/HVAC design/related product development.
- 5+ years of working closely with teams of 5-25 high performing associates with a proven track record of success and growth

- Masters or PhD in Mechanical Engineering.
- Capable of driving a team where the problem, opportunity, and strategy may not be defined.
- Influences strategy; able to design the right workforce strategy to meet long-term targets and needs.
- Deep understanding of cooling infrastructure in data center environments
