Key job responsibilities
• Lead the vision and execution for test system development.
• Work with key stakeholders across hardware and software development teams to define test strategy and requirements.
• Define electrical component and subsystem test plans as needed to ensure robust electrical designs for space applications.
• Lead the planning and execution of design verification test, qualification, reliability, and production test campaigns for avionics subsystems.
• Hire, lead, and guide the various aspects of the test engineering team through test system architecture, equipment selection, PCB design, harness design, test system build and integration, and test system commissioning and delivery to customers.
• Develop and manage processes, including test system design reviews, test plan reviews, test readiness reviews, and test results reviews.
• Partner with cross-functional teams including electrical engineering, RF engineering, mechanical engineering, software, reliability, manufacturing, program management, etc.
A day in the life
As the Test Engineering Manager, you and your team will develop and deliver test systems for avionics subsystems for both development and production test. You will be responsible for development test campaigns, which include board level electrical design verification test, LRU qualification test, and reliability test. You will lead the definition and deployment of your test systems to production test, which include external and internal manufacturing test.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years of managing an engineering team.
• 7+ years designing and/or testing with SoCs, DRAMs, FPGAs, multi-gigabit interfaces, power converters, sensors, operational amplifiers, ADCs/DACs, high speed printed circuit boards, and harnessing.
• Experience developing requirements, test plans, and test procedures for design verification, qualification, and/or manufacturing test.
• Experience designing and delivering test systems to support design verification, qualification, reliability, and/or manufacturing testing.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with space hardware qualification (MIL Std 1540 / SMC-S-016).
• Experience in two or more areas: EMI/EMC test, hardware-in-the-loop testing, design verification test, radiation test, reliability test, and vehicle integration & test.
• Experience as a technical lead designing test systems that have been deployed in a production environment.
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust.
• Experience with setup, control and automation of lab equipment like spectrum analyzers, signal generators, electronic loads, power supplies, network analyzers, high-speed oscilloscopes, etc.
• Experience with control and automation of thermal chambers for hardware product testing.
• Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure.
• Experience with schematic and layout ECAD tools.
• Experience with complex board designs, including high-speed interconnects, high-reliability designs, avionics, vehicle control systems, and/or motor & actuator control electronics.
• Experience with RF design and test equipment.
