Your key responsibilities

As a manager in our international tax practice, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating US tax compliance and tax advisory work for clients. You will work on key client issues related to cross-border operations with a focus on implementing tax strategies that align with the client's business objectives.

You will manage US tax compliance accounts for large clients that operate in various industries such as asset management and private equity, banking and capital markets, and insurance. You will review and analyze extensive portfolio of investments and relevant financial data, make appropriate tax adjustments, and review various international tax returns (Form 5471, 8865, 8858, 8621, 1120-F, etc.) as well as international tax reporting on Schedule K-1 & K-3s.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Strong technical knowledge in the US international tax area
  • Ability to analyze financial statements for tax character and identify book-to-tax differences
  • Ability to identify key tax technical issues and raise the appropriate questions before the work is sent for review to the partner or senior manager and consult accordingly when necessary
  • Build impactful relationships with new and existing clients and maintain relationships with firm leadership
  • Managing multiple work assignments and deadlines
  • Managing budgets, projects and people
  • Ability to teach or assist with firm in-house trainings
  • Creating a positive and trusting environment where team members know each other and feel a part of their team

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A Bachelor’s degree in an accounting, finance or a business discipline, and a minimum of 6 years of relevant tax experience; or an advanced degree in tax or law and a minimum of 5 years of relevant tax experience
  • A CPA (or equivalent internationally recognized accounting designation), Enrolled Agent, JD and/or LLM certification is required. Other qualifications or experience will also be considered.
  • Broad exposure to US federal income taxation
  • Experience managing budgets, projects and people

  • Excellent managerial, leadership, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills
  • Strong writing, research, analytical, communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated skills in mentoring and training others
  • A thorough understanding of building client relationships
